In this document we describe what kind of personal data we collect when you use our websites (www.boxifier.com and https://forums.boxifier.com/) and products, how and where we may use these data, how we protect it, who has access to it, with whom do we share it and how you may update the data collected by us.
As used in this “Privacy Policy”, “Boxifier” refers to all websites (including www.boxifier.com, https://help.boxifier.com and https://forums.boxifier.com/) and products owned or operated by Kenubi SRL, aka Boxifier.
By visiting the Boxifier website, or using our product, you acknowledge that you accept and consent to the practices outlined in this Privacy Policy.
S.C. Kenubi S.R.L. (hereafter mentioned as Boxifier) offers an IT solution for backup and folder synchronization.
Boxifier processes personal data for the following purposes:
(i) To contact its clients and/or users of its products and websites for support or counseling;
(ii) To assure correct and efficient operation of its products and for improvement, delivering and customizing the related services to the users’ needs and developing new technologies;
(iii) To make statistical analysis and market studies;
(iv) To have marketing activities for Boxifier’s own needs.
PERSONAL DATA COLLECTED
All personal data collected by Boxifier will be recorded, stored, used and managed on protected servers, as well as on other devices that allow these operations with appropriate security measures. Also, all Boxifier’s websites are being hosted on protected servers.
Boxifier may collect personal information from its users in four different ways:
(i) directly provided by a user
(ii) indirectly provided by its websites or its products, such as: technical data sent by the Boxifier products installed by users; traffic data registered by the servers that host our websites; cookies, that may share some personal information.
Personal data directly provided by a user/partner – for example, when you download the free trial or purchase a product, we might ask your name, email address, phone number, credit card number and/or billing address. When you ask for support, we may ask for a valid email address. All these data are being used for contacting you, for billing purposes, providing a specific user with a license to use our products, for solving a request or complaint you addressed to us or for offering technical support. Boxifier may also ask for other data that could be considered personal data, if those are necessary for these specified purposes.
Boxifier may also receive certain information that may be provided by your browser or mobile device, including:
(i) browser information
(ii) operating system information
(iii) mobile device information
(iv) IP address
(v) pages accessed
(vi) time of visit
(vii) time of last visit
(viii) referring site, application, or service, including the relevant search queries that led you to Boxifier’s website
If you wish to access certain functions within the Boxifier Forum, such as posting comments or asking questions, we may ask you to provide information, including name and email address.
COOKIES
Boxifier uses cookies (small data files sent to your browser when you visit a site) for one or more of the following purposes: to get website traffic information, to help identify unique visitors and/or devices and for a better understanding of how people are using our services.
If you do not wish to have Boxifier place and use cookies on your computer, you should set your browser preferences to refuse all cookies before accessing Boxifier. Boxifier is not responsible for any failure by you or your browser to accurately implement or communicate your browser preferences or settings. HOW DO WE USE THIS INFORMATION
We use the Boxifier User Information to register your license, fulfill your requests, communicate with you, process billing for Boxifier products and personalize your experience on the Boxifier website.
We may also use Boxifier User Information to facilitate the delivery of content or advertisements that we believe may be of interest to you, or to communicate with you about new or existing products and services or special offers.
We may also use Google Analytics and Google Analytics Demographics and Interest Reporting to collect information regarding visitor behavior and visitor demographics on our websites. This analytics data is not tied to any Personal Information. For more information about Google Analytics, please visit www.google.com/policies/privacy/partners/. You can opt out of Google’s collection and Processing of data generated by your use of the Services by going to tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
DISCLOSURE AND TRANSFER OF INFORMATION TO THIRD PARTIES
Boxifier uses certain trusted third parties (for example, payment processor and IT services) to help us provide, improve and protect our products. These third parties may access your information only to perform tasks on our behalf in compliance with this Privacy Policy and we'll remain responsible for their handling of your information per our instructions.
Boxifier also reserves the right to disclose any Boxifier Client Information or Client User Information (including Personally Identifiable Information) to:
(i) comply with any law, regulation, or legal request;
(ii) enforce, apply, or investigate breaches of the Terms of Use or other agreements;
(iii) respond to client requests;
(iv) protect the rights, property, or safety of Boxifier, our employees, our users, or others.
If Boxifier, or substantially all of its assets, is acquired by another company or successor entity, Boxifier Client Information and/or Client User Data will be one of the assets transferred or acquired by the purchaser or successor. You acknowledge that such transfers may occur and that any purchaser of or successor to Boxifier or its assets may continue to collect, use and disclose your information acquired prior to such transfer or acquisition as set forth in this policy.
EMAIL COMMUNICATIONS
We may contact you by e-mail or other equivalent electronic communications if you access Boxifier products or services. By registering or using Boxifier products, you specifically consent to the receipt of these e-mails. If you do not want to receive emails or other communications from us, please follow the unsubscribe instructions in the body of such communications or notify us by email at team@boxifier.com.
YOUR CHOICES & OPT-OUT
You have the right to opt out of certain uses and disclosures of your Personal Information. Where you have consented to Boxifier’s processing of your Personal Information, you may withdraw that consent at any time and opt-out to further processing by contacting us at team@boxifier.com. Even if you opt-out, we may still collect and use non-Personal Information regarding your activities on our websites and/ or information from the advertisements on third party websites for non-interest based advertising purposes, such as to determine the effectiveness of the advertisements.
We may periodically send you free newsletters and e-mails that directly promote our Services. When you receive such promotional communications from us, you will have the opportunity to “opt-out”, by following the unsubscribe instructions provided in the e-mail you receive. We do need to send you certain communications regarding the product you purchased and you will not be able to opt out of those communications – e.g., communications regarding updates to our Terms of Service or this Privacy Policy or information about billing.
We maintain the “do-not-mail” list as mandated by law. We process requests to be placed on the “do-not-mail” list within 60 days after receipt, or such shorter time as may be required by law.
MODIFYING YOUR INFORMATION
You can access and modify your Personal Information by contacting us at team@boxifier.com. If you want us to delete your Personal Information, please contact us at team@boxifier.com with your request. We’ll take steps to delete your information as soon we can, but some information may remain in archived/backup copies for our records or as otherwise required by law.
HOW WE PROTECT YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
Boxifier has implemented reasonable security mechanisms to protect Boxifier Client Information that is maintained on Boxifier’s servers from loss, misuse and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration and destruction. Examples of these security mechanisms include limited and password-protected access, high security public/private keys, encryption on processed data.
DATA RETENTIONS
Boxifier retains the Personal Information we receive as described in this Privacy Policy for as long as you use our products or as necessary to fulfill the purpose(s) for which it was collected, provide our products, resolve disputes, establish legal defenses, conduct audits, pursue legitimate business purposes, enforce our agreements and comply with applicable laws.
CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY
Boxifier retains the discretion to amend or modify this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes to the way we collect or use the information collected, we will notify you by posting a clear and prominent announcement on Boxifier websites.

We will use reasonable efforts to respond promptly, within 10-20 business days, to requests, questions or concerns you may have regarding access to Personally Identifiable Information about you that we have collected. We may contact you for follow up information.

This Privacy Policy is effective as of the Effective Date set forth at the top of this document.
